I will be anorexic all my life. Even I’m safe now because of mixed symptoms

(anorexia-bulimia emerged after a long episode of “pure” anorexia),

I can say I will be always confused with Love, life and food.

Comme si le jeûne permettait la pensée, l’autonomie de décision, la meilleure

conjonction pour performer.

Et de même les meilleurs grands moments de ma vie avaient eu lieu à jeûn.

(Les grandes promenades dans la forêt, les longues marches dans les Alpes

avec mon Père, les passions amoureuses, l’écriture, le travail photographique,

la danse, le piano……).

Cet étourdissement par la faim physique induisait d’autres sensations intimes

de l’ordre de l’orgasme.

Et je trouvais dans cette sérénité de la faim la spiritualité, et l’accès à

une plus solide abstraction de mon intellect donnant naissance à la fulgurance

de mes images.

La vacuité de mon estomac permettait une acuité plus vive comme si manger endormait

les sens vitaux du vrai plaisir.

Car pour moi le vrai plaisir était avant tout le contact visuel avec intense

réciprocité, le toucher de l’autre désiré, le sentir, l’éprouver.

{-(Jean-René Ruez, a senior French police official, was the central figure in establishing

the facts about the executions of at least 8,372 Bosniacs in Srebrenica.

As a Chief Investigator for Srebrenica appointed by the Hague Tribunal,

Jean-René Ruez has spent the past 14 years working tirelessly to collect the evidence

of the Srebrenica genocide and prove that the massacres were planned and covered

up in an attempt to hide the crime.

Before being appointed to lead what became the biggest criminal investigation in Europe

since World War II, Jean-René Ruez studied law and entered in the elite French police commissioners’ school.

He worked as a Senior police investigator in Paris, Marseille and then Nice.

After joining the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia,

he went straight to the field collecting evidence – going as far as digging out mass graves.

Haunted by all he has learned and worn down by the weight of his responsibility,

Jean-René Ruez has sacrificed everything to try and hold the guilty to account.

His contribution to the truth about the Srebrenica genocide is enormous.

Through his eyes, we gain a fresh perspective on what happened at Srebrenica.

to kill their children or watching as soldiers ended the young lives.

He gave evidence that Bosnian Serb forces had killed and tortured refugees at will.

Streets were littered with corpses, he said, and rivers were red with blood.

Many people committed suicide to avoid having their noses, lips and ears chopped off, he said.

Following these murders, the victims of Srebrenica were buried in mass graves

that continue to mark the landscape with traces of the crime.}{cf Srebrenica genocide blog.}

Reading the press, I found other words of witnesses, investigators, writers, journalists:

"In a five-day orgy of slaughter at Srebrenica in July 1995, up to 8000 Muslims were systematically

exterminated in what was described at the U.N. war crimes tribunal as "the triumph of evil."

"What made it worse was the genocide took place in what had been

designated a U.N. "safe area" three months earlier."

A judge at The Hague tribunal was later to describe what happened in Srebrenica

as "truly scenes from hell written on the darkest pages of human history."

Thousands of Bosnian Muslims had sought refuge in the spa town of Srebrenica

in 1995 as the Bosnian Serb army marched towards them.

They were protected by just 100 lightly equipped Dutch peacekeepers -

who proved no match for the advancing, heavily-armed Serb army.

"So that region was the theatre of a fierce manhunt, and I know that

they were collecting people at three locations.

One of them was the stadium near Nova Kasaba.

The second one was a farm, agricultural farm in the village of Kravica.

The third location was an elementary school or part of a factory in Kravica."

"The Bosnian Serbs, sought both to annihilate the Bosniac presence

from the Srebrenica enclave  and to hide all evidence of the deed,

Speaking of Srebrenica massacre, is to say that I am ashamed of being French.

(because I do not agree with those such as President Sarkozy

who have advocated the fast accession of Serbia

to the European Union for purely geopolitical reasons.)

In 1995 I was drowned in a terrible family problem and I had

not followed international news.

In early endlessly hot summer 95, the little French that I was, didn't know about the horror

which was going to happen in July in the "Safe Area" Srebrenica, so called by the UN.

In the days of 11 July until the end of month  the Bosnian population was

living hell of a systematic massacre perpetrated by the Serbs,

the Scorpions unit, the Chetnicks and other enemies of the Bosnian Muslims.

My ignorance and my troubles were blocking my reception of information,

I knew nothing of the genocide a few hundred miles of my  very comfortable life.

The following months I heard of Srebrenica, Potocari, the columns of Muslim men

who had fled the enclave of Srebrenica between July 12 and July 19, 1995.

Along that route of horror from Srebrenica to Tuzla, they were not assisted

in any way [by the main Muslim forces].

No aid was provided.

On that part of the road, they were ambushed on several occasions.

There were fatalities and casualties there.

It happened:

The forcible transfer of women and children from the Srebrenica enclave to Kladanj

12 and July 13, 1995, and from 12 to 19 July 1995 about the capture, detention,

summary execution by firing squads, burial and re-burial

the corpses of thousands of men and boys by Bosnian Muslim enclave of Srebrenica,

aged 16 to 60 years.

Then I read and I immersed myself in the story of the second genocide of the 20th century.

Among the exhibits showing the most horrendous genocide in Srebrenica

and more generally of the horrors committed during the Bosnian war,

there is a movie showing a unit of Scorpions (Serbian militiamen particularly

and violent fanatics) humiliating and slowly killing six young Muslims Bosnians,

one of whom is older than sixteen.

This video has been discovered and posted to the ICTY

(International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia)

in 2005 at the trial of Slobodan Milosevic, accused of war crimes and crimes

against humanity.

The film was shot ten years ago by a soldier who never imagined,

Of course, that his "work" to escape its control and would later

evidence of the massacre. The Scorpions were special units composed of soldiers

particularly fanatical and violent, sent en foule in Croatia

Bosnia-Herzegovina and later in Kosovo.

During the broadcast of the video in June 1995,

ten years after the facts at the trial of Slobodan Milosevic

the latter denied having anything to do with these men.

Nobody is fooled:

Scorpions directly dependent on the Serbian Ministry of Interior.

These soldiers were very loose, certainly, but also highly organized,

and should not try to make us believe that killing is an isolated case.

Milosevic has always denied having intervened in Bosnia, and has been arguing that this conflict

concerned only the Bosnian Serbs, and in any case the Serbs of Serbia.

But we now know that Serbia provided in this conflict material,

weapons, officers and salaries."

( Mrs. Hartmann wrote a book, Peace and Punishment (2007),

in which she criticized the ICTY's confidential agreement with Serbia

to conceal material evidence of Serbia's direct involvement in the genocide in Bosnia in 1992-95.

The concealment of that evidence resulted in Bosnia's losing of its parallel case against Serbia

in the International Court of Justice for reparations.

The ICTY has charged Mrs. Hartmann for revealing confidential information

and for the contempt of the Tribunal.
